In the media

We much regret to say that it has proved extraordinarily difficult to get any copy or photographs from the local newspapers. Some photos are available to purchase, but by no means all those published in the paper are offered on the Website. Some of us remember the days when you could go into the Office and look up not only the published photos of an occasion but also others taken at the same event. These days that is no longer possible and you are simply referred to the Website, and its very limited range of photos.

Similarly with copy. The writer confesses that in his ignorance he assumed that in these electronic days all the news pages at least would be available, under whatever conditions, on the Website, and that with appropriate arrangement it would be possible to quote or refer to the page in a particular edition. But no, only some news is there, and very little about Barrowden either in the paper and still less on the Website. So for the time being the only available reference is to the entry in March 2009. Not even the Lord Lieutenant in November warranted space on the Website, or a photo.

Or....... has your writer missed a move? Is there more available than he realises? He could quite well have misunderstood the system. Any help would be gratefully received. Please contact us through the <barrowdenshop.org> Website and email address. In full at Contact us. Thank you
